WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts will host their first annual Open House on Saturday, May 7th at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Fans of all ages are invited to attend the free event, which will feature Wingnuts' players, coaches, and staff.
This will be the public's first opportunity to see the various renovation projects that have taken place at the ballpark. Since late 2010, Lawrence-Dumont Stadium has undergone several exciting changes, including the installation of state-of-the-art field turf on both the infield and outfield, repairing of lower box seats, replacement of outfield wall pads, expansion of dugouts, and installation of a new lighting system.
Sports Radio 1410 KGSO will be hosting a live remote during the Open House from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
May 7th also marks the first day that single game tickets for the 2011 season go on sale to the public. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Open House.
The Wingnuts continue their inaugural caravan on Thursday, visiting Heartspring at 8700 E. 29th St. North from 10:00-11:30 a.m. and then Heroes Sports Bar and Grill on Mosley St. in Old Town at 12:00 p.m.
The Wingnuts open the 2011 season on May 12th at Amarillo. Wichita's 2011 home opener is Friday, May 20th versus the El Paso Diablos. Season tickets, mini packs, and group packages are on sale now.
