Cats Steal Spring Game From Wingnuts

FORT WORTH, TX- The Wichita Wingnuts dropped a 5-2 exhibition decision to the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field on Friday night.

Kelley Gulledge's three-run homer in the ninth inning Friday night gave the Cats a 5-2 win over Wichita at LaGrave Field.  The Wingnuts are now 1-1 in the preseason.

The Cats took an early lead in the game as Ryan Patterson scampered home from third on a wild pitch.  The Wingnuts took a 2-1 advantage in the fourth when Kelly Hunt hit a two-run shot to left.  Wingnuts' pitchers held the Cats to just three hits through the first eight innings.

The Wingnuts play the Cats in Fort Worth again on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. in their last exhibition game of the season.

The Wingnuts open the 2009 season on Thursday, May 14th when they host the Lincoln Saltdogs at 7:05 p.m.  Tickets are on sale for all 48 home games.  Season, group, and picnic packages are available as well.  For more information, call the Wingnuts' office at (316) 264-4625.
