WINNIPEG, Manitoba (September 19, 2017) – Game Five of the American Association Championship Series between the Wichita Wingnuts and Winnipeg Goldeyes which was scheduled for Tuesday night at Shaw Park, has been postponed due to impending inclement weather. The game will now be played Wednesday night at 6:05 at Shaw Park.
The Championship Series is tied 2-2 after the Goldeyes extended their season with a ninth-inning rally and 17-inning victory on Monday night, which ended up being the longest game in American Association history. The contest lasted five hours and 59 minutes, ending just after 1:00 a.m. CDT.
The postponement is the second of the Championship Series. Game Three was pushed from Saturday to Sunday due to heavy rain, forcing the rest of the series back a day as well. The original schedule had Game Five slated for Monday night.
Game Five of the American Association Championship Series between the Wingnuts and Goldeyes is now set for Wednesday night at Shaw Park. Wichita will send right-hander Tim Brown (0-0, 9.00) to the mound, while Winnipeg will counter with fellow righty Edwin Carl (1-0, 2.00). First pitch is slated for 6:05, and the game will be broadcast on 1410 AM/93.9 FM KGSO, TuneIn, and americanassociationbaseball.tv.
